All coaches really do is stand behind you and let you know that you know, when, you run, you run ever so slightly to the left.

if you just straightened up, you could take three seconds off your personal best. “Is that what you’d like?” A question they may ask!

Of course, people want to be the best that they can be.

I can see your dark spots because I’m viewing it from a different point. It’s why I’ve got a coach. I can’t see my own blind spots because I’m just like everybody else. I am blind to my blind spots. And I can’t say to people, it’s really important. You get a coach because they’re going to help you see the things you can’t see.

How does coaching work?

I get coached all of the time by lots of people. So yes, I have an actual coach. In fact, I’ve got a couple, but I’ve also got a huge community of friends that are coaches and a huge community of friends who aren’t coaches, but they still coach me. They still teach me things because they’ve done something that I haven’t done.

And they’ve got a unique viewpoint on what I’m going through. And it comes from a position of love. So I know that they love me and they want to do the best by their will.

They want me to do the best. So I always liken a coach to having your critical best friend, the person that lets you know, your bum looks big in that before you’ve stretched it around town. I’m thinking you look case because they just want you to be the best that you can be. And I’m blessed to have some amazing best friends who I know when they are telling me anything that’s developmental and they are letting me know that my bum looks big, they’re doing it out of love. They’re doing it because they care and they’ve got my best interests. And likewise, when I do the same for them, it’s because I care.

So your coach doesn’t have to be somebody you pay for some people also get this from listening to YouTube to a podcast, to reading books, it’s around saying actually: Where can you gather more knowledge?

Where can you gain more insight? And then how can you debate on that so that you can actually say, well, this is what I learned.

This is what I thought about it. What does somebody else think?

So for me, I figure of just making sure that you’ve got the right people in your support network to help you to be the best that you can be. And sometimes you need that person.

Who’s just going to sit and have a coffee with you and commiserate. Sometimes you want the person that’s going to kick you up the backside and say, come on now. And we’re going to class. You come, I will not preachy anymore.

And sometimes I want somebody who’s just going to say, look, this is where you’re getting your own way. And you need a combination of those, or at least I do. I need a combination depending on what I need on that day or in that moment or for that particular thing that I’m facing, but actually surrounding yourself with the right tribe really helps.

They say that you’re the sum of the 5 to 10 people that you spend the most time with. And that can be online. It could be face-to-face, a combination of both.

How does coaching work?

It makes such a difference when you, you know if you hang out with people they influence you.

Sometimes you need to understand what is coaching good for before you can get your life on track by hiring one!

Like, I mean, I was reading some of the other day, 95% of your purchasing decisions are made subconsciously. So if you’re, if you’re 95% of your decisions to buy something and made subconsciously just think about what people are doing to your brain subconsciously and like, you know, that’s why you got to guard your, doorway to your mind.

But it’s also recognizing that you know, we believe, convince ourselves that we’re logical beings, and make our decisions based on our thinking brain. And yet the reality is our emotions respond 24 times faster. So at the point that we think we want to do something or we think, or don’t show them that we’re upset or angry or hurt or whatever, actually it’s already out there and our emotions are already there for everybody to see, but we’re just not looking for them.

And the reality is we make our choices based on our emotions. And then we justify them based on logic. And then we convince ourselves that we did everything logical in the first place, but we have to recognize that we’re all emotional beings and we all have those emotions. We all feel them. And that the moment we tell ourselves not to express them, it’s already too late.

Yeah. Thanks to everybody. Who’s been so kind and given us feedback, both things that they’d like us to do differently and things they’d like us to continue doing because that’s how we grow. It’s how we learn. And it takes a lot for people to have the courage to give feedback. So we do really, really appreciate it.
